alternative to xxd
im looking for another way to convert binary file to a txt file exactly like what xxd do.
we are talking about old solaris system.
so bash or perl will be preferable

If you want a program which is "exactly like"
"xxd", then you may wish to use "xxd". The
source code seems to be available. If all
you want is a dump program which comes with
the OS, then try "od".

when i said "old" i meant solaris 8 and 9
and there is a really really good reason why i cant use xxd (or install one)
thanks for telling me that source code seems to be available ;)
and yesss uname -a works fine on solaris 8.

a Google search for
xxd perl
? I did. It seemed easy.
