What types of errors are you getting from Informix? Are you sure it is related to file or LV corruption?

Are there any errors in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log?

If you are sure the LVs have problems you can try running an 'fsck' against them. However, if there are errors your best course of action may be to restore the Informix DB.

Re: bad volume group.....urgent

Informix typically uses raw volumes so there is no filesystem. Was any LVM maintenance done on the server such as lvreduce or vgreduce? There is nothing you can do to fix corrupted raw disks except to restore all of them from your latest backup. All the Informix volumes go together so restoring just one or two will not allow Informix to start.

what type of storage you have used for the lvols ?

check the luns/disks integrity.

This will help you.
