barcode scan capability with DP 5.5
hello;
I've got an HP surestore 6/200 dlt8000 library. library is connected to a mux via scsi and the mux to the FC switch.
My HPUX on 11.23 can see the individual DLT8000 drives, but dataprotector cannot see the robotic so that I can configure barcode scan.
below is the ioscan portion showing the autoch.
fcp 1 1/4/0/0.8 fcp CLAIMED INTERFACE FCP Protocol Adapter
ext_bus 6 1/4/0/0.8.0.0.0 fcpmux CLAIMED INTERFACE HPA3308 FCP-SCSI MUX Interface
target 21 1/4/0/0.8.0.0.0.0 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
autoch 1 1/4/0/0.8.0.0.0.0.0 acdd UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN HP C7200-8000

Re: barcode scan capability with DP 5.5
"UNCLAIMED" and "UNKNOWN" mean that the required driver is not installed. For autochangers, you need schgr and sctl. Use SAM to add them to your kernel and let it rebuild and reboot. Then the autoch device will be CLAIMED and DataProtector will run the robotic arm (and barcode reader). Look at this article:
