booting thin clients via tftpd

I have some trouble booting thin clients via PXE from my HPUX 11.11 box.

I get an error message saying:
"TFTP server does not support the tsize option"

booting from linux hosts works.

I found patches regarding this problem only for HPUX 11.00, but not for 11.11.

Do I have to compile my own tftpd from other sources ?

Any Ideas ?

sorry, no 11.11 tftpd with that feature is available and there are no plans for a 11.11 patch. You may try to run a 11.00 tftpd binary on your 11.11 system.

WHere can I find the HPUX 11.00 version of tftpd and the patches ?

Is this issue patched in later versions of HPUX ?

either you could log a support case with your response center and reqeust Site Specific Patch PHNE_32825 for 11.11 or you simply extract the tftpd binary from the 11.00 patch PHNE_28828 (unpack patch with tar... the extracted file may still be compressed or gzipped).

According to support the patch PHNE_32825 does not exist they refeard me to PHNE_32449.

The patch is a "SITE SPECIFIC PATCH"... so it is not available as general release. That's why I advised you to log a case. :)

Ask them to search for document 4000087325... that explains what to do to retrieve that patch.

You could use the ported version:
http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Networking/FTP/tftpd-1.2/ it is for 11.00 but it may work for you :-)

After giving them the document number and stressing the fact that is was a "SITE SPECIFIC" I got the patch (PHNE_32825).

The client boots and I'm a happy camper =)
