can we clone the boot disk ??

Hi,
In my servers using rp4720 servers. Using HP disks as boot disks(146 GB) disks

I want to clone the same to an SAN disk. Can we do the same??

Should I want to allocate same size lun(ie 146 GB).

Wats the step to do?? Explain me with command to clone..

What version of HP-UX do you have?
You could look at using DRD if 11.23 or 11.31

Hi,

with dd you can clone disk. You need at least the same size with original disk. As the device file will be changed, you must change lvmtab information as explained below thread:

or you can mirror/ux to clone boot disk.

DRD is the better solution.

If using "dd" you need to go to maintenance mode and vgexport/vgimport vg00 to reflect the changed h/w path.
