cannot mount the DVD

dear all expert

i want to install patch into server 11.31 , before i install , i burn my patch file into DVD from my laptop . now the problem is i cannot mount that DVD ,
# mount -F cdfs /dev/dsk/c1t0d0 /cdrom
/dev/dsk/c1t0d0: unrecognized file system

please advice , urgent

Not a very detailed description of anything.
What was "patch file"? How, exactly, using
which software, did you "burn my patch file
into DVD"? Could you read the resulting disc
on "my laptop"? What is the operating system
on "my laptop"?

Did you consider using some network method
(like, say, FTP) to get the data from one
computer to the other?

PC burning software is becoming less and less compatible with anything but other PCs. You'll have to research your PC software to see if there is an ISO9660 or RockRidge burning option. Make sure the option is burn at once -- a lot of PC software writes an open CD which is non-portable.

So far as I know, one must always use some
program -- you could call it a "burn tool" --
to write a CD or DVD. The question here is
which program you used, and exactly how you
used it. With my weak psychic powers, this
is still a mystery. (You seem happy to ask
questions, but not to answer them.)

Huh? ISO is a standards organization.

One of their standards (ISO 9660) specifies a
CD-ROM file system. What, exactly, are you
asking here?

Not a tool, but an OPTION of your tool.
You have to look for ISO9660 and/or RockRidge!

Can you tell us, which tool did you use?
Maybe you have more options if you use cd instead of dvd?

Also with RockRidge you maybe need more options in your mount command, like:
/sbin/mount -F cdfs -o rr,ro,cdcase /dev/dsk/c1t0d0 /cdrom
(This is from 11.11, I don't know if 11.31 still need it)

There are many problems that can occur, so - if you don't really need this files on dvd - it's maybe better to find another transport way from win to ux - ftp? samba share? cifs share?

i just normal copy the patch file into DVD and burn it out only .
