cannot open xwindow - xclock not working

Please Please Help!!!

I am trying to connect to one of my HPUX server from my new laptop. I can telnet/ssh successfully over putty/refelction x.
But when i try to start xclock, its not working. I tried with different xmanagers like Xming, Reflectionx, Xmanager etc. but no luck.

HPUX version : HPUX 11.23
Windows: Windows XP
I followed all basic steps like exporting display etc. What make me mad is its working from another laptop which is in my office. But when i try to connect from my home laptop over VPN its not working. ( no problem with VPN restrictions. There are other users who can open xwindow over VPN ). After I export the display with my local IP ( ip which i got from my local network connection), if i try to start xclock, it will say that cant open display. If i export the IP which i got over VPN it is giving me following error

$ export DISPLAY= :0.0
$ xclock
Error: Can't open display:LOCAL IP:0.0
$ export DISPLAY=VPNIP:0.0
$ xclock
Xlib: connection to "VPNIP:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
Error: Can't open display: VPNIP:0.0

I am really not sure what configuration i am missing.
So can anyone help me on this issue at the earliest.

Thanks in advance

Did you install and run the same X server
software on the new system as you apparently
are using on the working system?
("connection [...] refused" suggests not.
You don't need to use the same X server, but
you do need to use some X server.)

Hello,

We use hummingbird instead of Relection X, You have to open X session. In hummingbird it's call exceed. Not sure about RX.

Re: cannot open xwindow - xclock not working

Hello,

Check if you have a firewall on your laptop.

If you do, it should allow connections on port 6000.

Hi,
Did you try Xming ?.

after export the ip address of your lap please verify the same.
#echo #DISPLAY
I beleive you did not export the ip propelry or may be wrong ip address.\
