Re: cluster lock vg

Cluster lock VG may or may not have data ,it may or may not be a cluster data VG.

So if you have made a data VG as your cluster
VG it may have fs mounted & shown in bdf.

If it just contains a disk in a VG for dedicated to locking it may not show fs
mounted.

What about vgdisplay -v < vgname > can you see
it on any node ?

Thanks

Yes ,you can create logical volumes in lockvg if you want to utilize the space of that vg in your system.

Re: cluster lock vg

you can create LVs in the volume group and use the volume group to hold data for one of your packages. UNless the volume group is activated in a package you will not see it.

You do not have to give up the whole disk it can be used in a volume group of a package.

Re: cluster lock vg

Lock disk can be data disk or dedicated lock disk.

If u use the disk for data, then it must be mounted and can ve viewable ib bdf ouptut.

If you use it for dedicated lock disk, then no need to mount it and it would not be shown in bdf output.

Re: cluster lock vg

AFAIK the safest method is to have dedicated cluster lock VG and to do not have any data on it. For this purpose you can provision a small enough disk to all the nodes (a 100Mbyte one is enough) to avoid disk space waste.
