good afternoon,
now I have an HBA card with this status:
Driver state = AWAITING_LINK_UP
That command I can use to reset the card?
fcmsutil-f enable? this work?
operation system: HP-UX 11.23
P.S. This thread has been moved from Disk to HP-UX > sysadmin. -HP Forum Moderator

Re: command for HBA
If you want to reset the card you should use:
fcmsutil /dev/CARD reset
where CARD is your fibre channel card.
It can be found with the following command:
ioscan -fnkCfc
Just make sure that your port at the switch is enabled and I also kindly advice you to set explicitly the port speed (2/4/8Gbps) at the side of the switch!
Regards,
Sve

Re: command for HBA
I need to restart the HBA card to verify whether active or not.

Re: command for HBA
If lights are lit and fcmsutil is still in the state listed above:
1) Possible problem on the fiber network
2) Fiber switch may need to be configured to an online status.
The HP-UX serve should pick up this status instantly without need to reboot.

Re: command for HBA
No, to reset the HBA card when it is not ONLINE does not require a down system.
I would not reset the HBA card while ONLINE and having file systems mounted on disks it provides.
In the current situation, no downtime appears to be required.
