configuring the Npar and Vpar

Hi to all..
How to configure the Npar and Vpar in a HP intergerity superdome. is there any diffrence between the npar&vpar configuration for the pa-risc and itanium ?.

Pls help me out regarding this...

yes, there is a difference
With the Integrity servers you must remember to change the "hardware boot mode" to npars or vpars, depending upon which you want it to boot as.
All in the documents

How to configure nPar and vPar.

nPar is Node Partition, provides electrical isolation ( Like an independant server)

Cell based ( only certain combinations are allowed)

Cmds
gui parmgr

parcreate
parstatus
parmodify
parremove


vPar - you select
- quantity of CPU
- quantity of RAM
- Specific LBA's

use vparcreate to configure a vPar

other cmds
vparboot
vparmodify
vparstatus
vparremove
vparenv
vparefuiutil - integrity onle

diffs

PA-RISC

automatically booting the vPars monitor

mkboot -a "hpux /stand/vpmon -a " boot disk
shutdown -ry now

Integrity
mkboot -a "boot vpmon -a" boot disk
vparefiutil -u
vparenv -m vPars
shutdown -ry now
