connecting an ultruim 920 tape drive to 6402 raid controller

i am using hp-ux 11.23 on rx3600, and i am trying to connect a rack mounted ultruim 920 tape to the 6402 raid controller and when i serch for the tape using "ioscan -funC tape" i find nothing ,so please help with setting up the tape using that controller ...

Hi

Check your connection again.

Then do insf -e or insf -C tape
then do ioscan -funC tape

Hi,

ioscan with the u uption does not scan hw.
use ioscan -fnC tape. then do insf -e.

also check stape driver from kernel drivers in sam.

as i have searched for the support matrix of that card , i have found that it doesn't support connectivity to an external tape drive.

This smartarray controller is for disks **only** - you need another HBA.

yes this smart array support only disk arrays and disk drive only.
