I added data to sam_custom.cu
label "FIND HOG"
command "/usr/local/bin/sudo /var/adm/scripts/find_hog.plx"
and in /etc/sam/custom/sysops.cf my last 4 lines are,
label: FIND HOG
parents:
file: /etc/sam/sam_custom.cu

Re: custom sam menu

No, I've never seen this before. But, if as you say, you added data to the sam_custom.cu then I suggest putting SAM back to it's original state. The product is being obsolesced anyway.

If SAM runs okay after, then you know the problem is in your customization. Look there..

Re: custom sam menu

I hate to be the one, pointing the obvious, but did you have any other modules/stanzas in the sam_custom.cu which is/are running without any problems ? If yes, what is different about this particular extension ? If the answer is "nothing different" then are you sure your find_hog.plx has the right ownership and permissions, as well as if the user has right to execute it via sudo ?

Re: custom sam menu

yeah thank and to which I did, put everything back to the way it was and now it works fine.
As sysops ID I was able to run the script manually "/usr/local/bin/sudo /var/adm/scripts/find_hog.plx", as it in the .cu file.

Re: custom sam menu

The solution is per HP support:

This seems to be a known issue corrected in patch PHCO_32870. Please make sure that you have installed the latest cumulative SAM patch: PHCO_40349
