cyrillic and firefox/gtk2

I run 11.23 (pa-risc), cyrillic keyboard input works perfectly with old Mozilla, but does not work in newer Firefox (in any of russian locales), the keyboard just stays in english layout when i enter text in one of those windows. Is there a fix?

Shalom,

There has been no OS re-install here.

The fix here is to check with the firefox people, because cyrillic is definitely supported and proven to work on the OS level.

Yes, i know. Everything other works. Is there another application that shares the same gtk libraries with firefox so i can check it further?

Yes, the same problem appears. Should i try "inofficial" gtk2 build from connect.org.uk instead - maybe that may help?

Just tried (using LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to the right libraries) - no effect, the same bug :-(

You can use ldd(1) to see if LD_LIBRARY_PATH is really changing things.
