These are the errors:
mpt_analyze_ioc_status SCSI Protocol Error, resetting bus. Instance = 4, lbolt 8
SCSI Ultra320 0/3/1/0 instance 4: Driver initiating SCSI bus reset.
mpt_analyze_ioc_status SCSI Protocol Error, resetting bus. Instance = 4, lbolt 1
SCSI Ultra320 0/3/1/0 instance 4: Driver initiating SCSI bus reset.
mpt_analyze_ioc_status
Can it be a bad drive?
The on-board scsi gets similar errors. I have tried several cables and terminators.

Check the cable for bent pins.
Be careful if using the onboard connector - do you have a disk in the upper slot?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Nothing, Same error. I am thinking the RX2600 does not like that drive.

Did you check the cable? Maybe the device end has this 68pin connector. These pins are very easy to bent.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

These tape drives do fail.
That is what I think happened in this instance.
Based on the fact cables did not help.
