Re: disk bottle neck

Thanks Bill
We have moved files system to faster SAN.Backup has reduced by 30-45 minutes .
Still taking 4.5 hours. One of our batch jobs is running 25% faster.
For whats its worth we run apache web server and pearl code. We have crontab jobs that run pearl code every minute- they check database.
Ideally we would like to put the millions of files into a database but the business dont wont to pay for this at this stage. We are running Informix databases. replicating real time.

Re: disk bottle neck

In the end we are not going to backup certain files on main server - we have dr server at other end of country which will be backed up.
Also plan to put all the small files in to a database
