what we do if the disk is exceeds threshold value say 90%.

Are you asking for a script to monitor it? You could try searching the forum.

You either reduce the usage by clearing out files no longer required or you expand the size of the area allocated.

well, the question, as posed, lacks meaning....depends on if exceeding the threshold value is would be indicative of a problem. on some of the standard filesystems, it wouldn't be an issue, as some just don't grow much, so you size them to what you need an forget it.

there is no context here to determine what should be done. it could be anything from "nothing" to "remove unneeded files" to "have the dba re-org the database"....
