dm_ql_adapter not picking up 'LINK UP' status

hi,

i have a A6826A fc adapter and we seem to be able to get the EMS to detect a link down alert when the fc link was down but when it was up, EMS didnt seem to log a "LINK UP" event in syslog.log or event.log. Does anyone have this issue before?

Re: dm_ql_adapter not picking up 'LINK UP' status

I think this is pretty normal, because link down is considered to be a real issue, link up isn't.

Hope this helps!

Hi

The EMS do not log the link up event. It is a natural behaviour

Re: dm_ql_adapter not picking up 'LINK UP' status

found that there is a 'set_fixed -n' command to make the fc link status UP :

http://docs.hp.com/en/diag/ems/emd_6826.htm

Not sure if that could be changed the way it behave.

Re: dm_ql_adapter not picking up 'LINK UP' status

I usually run the EMS GUI in SAM to modify settings. Using a collection of 'when value changes' will send an alert for both up and down conditions. It definitely works for LAN adapters anyway.
