evainfo/xpinfo equivalent for p9500

We currently have EVA's and XP24000's in our environment. We are looking to add a p9500 an migrate production data to it. Does anyone know a command (and how to download it) providing information from a host (HPUX, Solaris, AIX, Linux) perspective similar to what can be obtained with evainfo, xpinfo (or for that matter EMC's inq) commands?

Re: evainfo/xpinfo equivalent for p9500

I was trying the latest xpinfo (now called p9000info), but the physical location of the disk mechanisms does not yet match.

In general xpinfo works with the new array.

Consider to ask hp support, if there is another new version in the pipe.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Can you help me with what you mean by "the physical location of the disk mechanisms"? Do you mean the CU/LDEV information?

Re: evainfo/xpinfo equivalent for p9500

No, I'm talking about a line like this:

Disk Mechs : R1408 R1508 R1608 R1708

but I think all other information is correct.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: evainfo/xpinfo equivalent for p9500

This page has release notes of the tool (scroll down):

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodClassId=-1&contentType=SupportManual&docIndexId=1255&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=4309961

and this is obviously the download of the tool p9000info aka xpinfo :

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=4309961&swItem=co-94081-2&prodNameId=4309964&swEnvOID=7&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=0

Hope this helps!

'obviously' ... Torsten you are a funny man :-)

I would have never guessed that 'HP StorageWorks XP and P9000 Performance Advisor Software' means xpinfo. Thanks!

Re: evainfo/xpinfo equivalent for p9500

I'm surprised too to find the tool in the download area ... I'm sure "xpinfo" was never there before.

Hope this helps!

Re: evainfo/xpinfo equivalent for p9500

... and by the way, even if the bundle is now called "p9000info" - there is still "xpinfo" inside.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
