Re: expect

Hi Navin:

I need some clarification here. Are you referring to a application available to download from HP-UX share ware called 'expect'?

-or-

Are you discussing an option in swlist that I've never heard of, and that you may have seen in another O/S like Linux or Solaris?

Re: expect

expect as in http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Tcl/expect-5.43

If it was not installed as an SD package using swinstall then it will not be a registered application listed in the IPD.

Re: expect

If expect is installed from depot file and registered in IPD, you can view more details with -v option.

swlist -v expect

Re: expect

Hi Navin:

SOftare is only visable to the SD tools (like 'swlist') if it is installed by 'swinstall'.

Re: expect

If you are looking for the version number of the 'expect' scripting software then you can do an 'expect -v'.

If you are looking for something else, then please elaborate.

Re: expect

Ok, try this:

what /stand/vmunix | grep -i expect

To see if its loaded in the kernel.

Else, check /usr/local/bin and search the README doc.
