fbackup to disk to tape and frecover from tape

currently we are using "fbackup"to save our system on DDS4 with the "-f / dev/rmt/c0t1d0BEST. We would initially save our system on disk and transferred only after the backup DDS4. I want the final result is identical to a direct backup to tape DDS4 restore power to my files directly from tape DDS4 with "frecover".

when I make a backup disk, I get a file. If I transfer this file to tape, in the case of restoration, I must fully restore the file to disk and only after doing a "frecover" from this file.

is there a solution?

thanks

best regards

A tape has all sorts of exciting things like file marks, tape marks and variable record sizes. These are lost when your write to disk.

How are you transferring the file to tape?
You might be able to use dd(1) to read from your tape and pipe it to frecover.

Then there is even less of a way to change things. I was thinking you were using dd(1) to put it on the tape but that won't handle multiple tapes, etc.
