Yes the error is critical:

You may need to run fsck. This requires you to bring down the file system. It can not be mounted while this utility is running.

The key to finding the meaning and action to take with VxFS messages like you saw is to use the message _number_ (here, 064) and look in the appendix of the Veritas File System (VxFS) Guide referenced by TTr.
