Hi:

If you have corrupted or otherwise lost parts of the '/usr' filesystem I hope you have an Ignite recovery image from which to rebuild your server.

1. Insert backup tape in drive
2. Restore

I know of no other miraculous way.

Assuming that /usr is the only file system that needs to be recovered.

A) If the file system exists then restore the data from a backup.

B) If the file system does not exist then manually create it and then restore the data.

Does the file system exist, can you see it in bdf output, etc?

Where is your data backed up? What utility or command did you use to create the backup?

You might want to explain why you need to recover it?

Did you mess up the permissions and the files are still there?
Or did you do "rm -rf /usr"?
