frecover hanging

Hi

I'm running an frecover of about 200GB of data.

My graph file reads:

i /oradata/ttest
i /mnt/app/oracle

I used the command:

frecover -xv -g /var/adm/fbackupfiles/graph_file_recovery -f /dev/rmt/0m

The output from frecover is hanging at:

It seems to have stuck on

whereby the index shows has a few more files to go before moving onto /oradata/ttest.

Also, the green light on the drive is still flashing.

Any ideas?

The green light on the tape drive is a primitive activity light -- which doesn't always mean that data is being transferred to the tape.  The if the 200GB is taking a lot longer than expected (don't know what model tape drive you are using), you may have a taoe drive problem. Try using a cleaning tape and the use a new tape and just include /mnt/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1 to see that the data can backed up OK. It may be a hardware issue with the drive. Unfortunately, some tape drives have poor error handling code and HP-UX drivers can't extract an error status.
