fsck - hangs at "log replay in progress"

Hi

When I do a fsck on HP-UX11.11, it hangs at the "log replay in progress". I want to mount these file systems from the SAN, but it refuses to do so until I run fsck.

Any Ideas?

Re: fsck - hangs at "log replay in progress"

is that a BCV file system? Do u have any newly added BCV disk (corresponding to the source/standard disk )not masked on the BCV node and hence not able to complete the intgerity check.

which storage?

Re: fsck - hangs at "log replay in progress"

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

It is actually a vxfs filesystem. Th storage is an EVA6000. It have created a snaplone of the original vdisk, now I wish to present it to this system. The HP-UX does see the LUNs when I do a ioscan -fnC disk, but it refuses to a fsck, when I wish to mount these cloned vdisks.

Cresswell,

Avoid using log replay, suspected intent log incompatible

Try the following command

# fsck -F vxfs -y -o full,nolog /dev/vgXX/lvolYY

Re: fsck - hangs at "log replay in progress"

Hi

Thanks for reply.

Unfortunately, that command also hangs. All paths to the SAN are active through autopath display, vgdisplay -v show all PV are availible, just the fsck thats not working and I cant mount the filesytems without doing an fsck.

Please help
