ftp - broken pipe

Hi

Iam using ftp to transfer a 250 MB file from one unix server to another ( both on HPUX 11.11).

after transfering around 50 MG , the session stops with the error broken pipe.

Can some one help /

Maybe the result is from connection timeout. The firewall can drop the packets if there is no activity for certain delay of time.

Check for ftp patches as well with the another ftp server/client.

there is no firewall. and we have the latest patches.

if you could down the file to your desktop / than ftp to your target server, using any ftp GUI based client have the option to increase the TIME OUT settings,

Hi,

My suggestion is check all below settings.

1.NIC card both server's speed/duplex
2.Check switch ports settings between this two servers speed/duplex.

Server NIC and there respective switch port setting should be same.
