ftp is slow: check

Can you please check why after every Unix patching or after Maintainence window. FTP will be slow. Can you check FTP on myhp01 for user: pdmac

i got the msg from client to check the ftp as they are facing problwm with ftp (slow ftp)
so wat shld be check in this situation

first, have *you* tried ftp and verified that "it's slow"?

if it is...then take a look at the settings for the lan card(s) -vs- switches. are both set to the same duplex, speed, etc...anything set to autonegotiate?

OS version would be of interest as well

1. Login to server and check if

# ftp 0 is working quickly or taking time

2. Check for the syslog message

3. Check for hostname resolution(nslookup)
