ftp over leased line modem

Hello everyone, hope someone can help me out. Let me explain what I am trying to do. We get files from DTC and we send them back to them as well. I am having a leased line setup with them. I have ordered the hardware from HP (looks like a cat 'o nine tails), and am confused on how this port will be accessed. I have a similar setup on another HP L3000 (however this is using X.25 over a leased line) but am perplexed by this. Does DTC's IP have to be somehow bound to use FTP? We FTP to them to put and take files so when we ftp to the address how do I know it will use a specified port on the modem to get to DTC?

X25 is point to point whereas ftp uses ip so a destionation ip address will have to be fixed.
