Hi,
Did you checked your ioscan ?
Is there any unclaimed device ?

Re: getting error message

Hello Suraj,

I applied the "ioscan funC disk " command. Some disks are shown having "NO_HW" status.
Please let me know what to do now ?

Re: getting error message

NO_HW indicates that those devices are no longer connected or have gone offline. You have a hardware failure. Look for additional error messages in syslog. You need to identify the hardware path and the disks that are having problems.

Re: getting error message

Hi Bill.

Thanks for your reply.

I am receiving this alert in a HP VM but not so frequest manner.

In the guest OS I have found some disks are having "NO_HW" state. Those disks are not configured in the HOST.

I checked "ioscan -m dsf" from where it is clearly visible that those disks are not present in the Physical HOST.

In HOST I am getting :

Re: getting error message

2 ways to do this:

1.  reboot

2. ioscan -fnkNC disk                look for NO_HW associate with /dev/rdisk/diskxxx

scsimgr -f replace wwid -D /dev/rdisk/diskxxx   dsf

wait for msg like:  validating disk replacement for all lunpaths under a target path
