getty: cannot open

Hi All,

I can see so many error messages in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
that are generating frequently. Can anybody let me know what they are how to stop these.

syslog: getty: cannot open "tty0p2". errno: 6
syslog: getty: cannot open "tty0p4". errno: 6
syslog: getty: cannot open "tty0p5". errno: 6
and so on.

You have getty's configured on various serial ports, but the ports are not there.

MUX card removed?

I have disable below lines on /etc/inittab file and now we are not seeing any getty error.

ttp1:234:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty -h tty0p1 9600
ttp2:234:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty -h tty0p2 9600
ttp3:234:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty -h tty0p3 9600
ttp4:234:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty -h tty0p4 9600
ttp5:234:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty -h tty0p5 9600
