Re: hard disks superdome
The older MSA's (like MSA30) are just JBODs, an "ioscan -fn" may identify the device - but the other MSA's (e.g. MSA1000, MSA1500, MSA2000) may be listed in your "ioscan -fn" too. Post it, then we will see ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: hard disks superdome
The HSV300 is an EVA4400, this part looks like a DS21x0 disk enclosure:
ext_bus 4 0/0/8/1/0 mpt CLAIMED INTERFACE SCSI Ultra320 A6961-60011
/dev/mpt4
target 8 0/0/8/1/0.0 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
disk 4 0/0/8/1/0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 146 GST3146854LC
/dev/dsk/c4t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0
target 9 0/0/8/1/0.2 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
disk 5 0/0/8/1/0.2.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 146 GST3146855LC
/dev/dsk/c4t2d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t2d0
target 10 0/0/8/1/0.4 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
disk 10 0/0/8/1/0.4.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 146 GST3146854LC
/dev/dsk/c4t4d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t4d0
target 12 0/0/8/1/0.6 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
disk 12 0/0/8/1/0.6.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 146 GST3146855LC
/dev/dsk/c4t6d0 /dev/rdsk/c4t6d0
So you probably have 2 DS21x0 disk enclosures (for mirroring) connected to each nPar with local disks. This is indicated by the SCSI IDs of 0, 2, 4 and 6 (switch position "A" at the enclosure). Somebody should have a look at the rack!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: hard disks superdome
No MSA at all!
But a DS21x0, see http://h18006.www1.hp.com/storage/disk_storage/disk_systems/ds2120/index.html

Re: hard disks superdome
An MSA would look like this in ioscan:
MSA30:
ctl 5 0/2/1/0/4/0.15.0 sctl CLAIMED DEVICE COMPAQ PROLIANT 4L7E*DB
P2000:
3/0/0/7/0/0/1.1.14.0.0.0.0 disk HP P2000 G3 FC
MSA1000/1500:
disk 14 64000/0xfa00/0x2 esdisk CLAIMED DEVICE COMPAQ MSA1000 VOLUME
The DS2120 does not show up in ioscan, because there is nothing else than disks. But depending on the chassis switch position it has fixed SCSI IDs for the maximum of 4 disks - 0,2,4,6 - this is what you have!
The DS2120 was also kind of "default" local disk hardware for this generation of superdome.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: hard disks superdome
If you are worried about HDD firmware, I would recommend to check your EVA4400 (but these are FC disks)!
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
