Hello all ,
Is it possible to copy host-id of one hp-ux box to other hp-ux box ?
# uname -a
HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64 11155647 unlimited-user license
copy this info to other machine ( 11155647 )

Solution
Hi Titu,
The machine identification number in the uname comand output cannot be changed by anyone except HP service and authorized persons and it unique to every computer .This number is a combination of the serial number, the CPU type and family. It is provided by HP to allow licensing software to uniquely identify the system.

i think you migrate a software to another box. so ask your vendor to supply you new licence.
