how do I know my rx2660 box is fully bundled/patched after installing O.S?

hpux 11iv2 with dated September, 2006 has been installed on this rx2660 box, and following is the list of bundles on this box.

Can you please tell me any other bundles I need to install?

Also, what command to check that out the patch level on another box? because I want to install the same patch level on this new box.

Looking at the september 2006 time stamp on your bundles, which is almost 2 years old, my gut feeling is, you *CAN* patch this server further. But do you really need to ? The answer to this can only be given by you and only you. Depending on the nature of this server (internet facing or not, along with other things) and the applications running on it, you can decide patching or not.

As a good measure, I prefer to keep my servers patched to a level of 6 months ago, avoiding the cutting edge, lastes and greatest patch bundles. If you go to patch database and look for patches related to your server hardware ans OS version/release, you will see some suggestions over there.

Your box appears patched to June 2009 QPK.

That is what you should install on a new box to match.

This is the equivalent of installing the Core OS of the same date.

Every six months HP released a QPK and a Core OS that match.

If you want to save time, use the equivalent Core OS.

You can run a patch assessment. A patch assessment provides a list of patch issues associated with the given system and specific patch recommendations to resolve the issue.

I do these patch assessment on my rx2660 test server and it works fine. Check the below link of how to do the patch assessment:

also this is good if beside the QPK you can also have the system patched for the HWenable as well as Feature11 as per the latest patch bundle as available on the ITRC Patch Database.

SWA is a very good tool as Suggested by JRF.

I have already installed QPKAPPS and QPKBASE, and as well as HWEnable11i, and they are all dated as September, 2006. We can not go for any newer release, due to limited by requirements of the application.

Over there, it listed 4 bundles, which are these I would have to download and install?
Also, I don't see the option where allows me to choose different bundles for different models, it'd be rx2660 in my case.

QPK bundles are for software patches and software, i.e., hp-ux, does not differ from one tyoe of hardware to the other. The thing you might be looking is the hardware enablement patches. On my rx3600, the name of this bundle is HWEnable11i, dated June 2007. Your mileage may vary. Check the patch database for hardware enablement patches

Then you're done. The standard patch bundles are cumulative. That is, newer ones add new patches and new versions of previous patches.

The Hardware Enablement bundle offers a subset of patches to "enable" new hardware support.
