how to discover how many free disks slots are available?
Hi
I would like to know how many free disk slots are in my disk cabin...
I supose that I have to use the STM,,,is it correct??,,something else??

Well, stm will probably do it but you could also probably take the cover off and have a look. Alternatively, you could tell us which cabinet it is so we can determine how many disks it can have and then do an ioscan and see how many disks are currently in it.
Also, I imagine this question will get more response over in the hpux forum. I am assuming that as you mention stm, you are not talking about linux.

Ok, that supoprts up to 10 disks.
If you do an "ioscan -fn" you'll see an ultra 2 SCSI connector. You'll also see some disks with a very similar looking hardware path and they will all have similar device file names. If you count them, you'll get how many slots you have free :)
