Our hp-ux server 11iv3 got restarted automatically.

how to find the root cause.

oracle database is installed on the server.

What is in the /etc/shutdownlog ?

Hi,

No RAC is not installed.

/etc/shutdownlog dosnt contains only about manual restart or shutdown i have done.

Any possibility for power outage of the server?

The 3 initial logs to check:

/etc/shutdownlog
/etc/rc.log.old
/var/adm/syslog/OLDsyslog.log

There should be something in at least one of those unless power was completely and suddenly lost for some reason.
