how to install os in brand new hp server?

I got a brand new hp server, how to bring it up the server and assign ip and take the remote desktop login.. can u explain the steps experts..

we have ordered for rx-2660 model and i want to know the server will arrive as assembled built in vg00 or we want to assemble it and create the vg00 by installing the os? how many cd's are there for installing hp-ux os?

As you torsten told if the default preloaded os is 11iv3 if we want to migrate it to 11iv2 or 11iv1 can i know wat is the procedure?

Your server can run 11i v2 or 11i v3, but not 11i v1.

Switch it on and see what you get.

If the disks are empty, you need to look what disk controller you have.

Shell> devices

If you see a smartarray P400, you need to create logical drives using ORCA.

In case disks are connected to the built-in LSI chip, consider to create a hardware mirror.

Now install the OS.

1.whether mp-console will be a part of the server are attached..
2. how to login to the mp-console?
3. how to assign ip addrs?
4. if we want to migrate to 11iv2 then how is it possible?

Yes, it should have mp-console after you connect to the serial connector either through a laptop or kvm connection.

The login user name and password will be listed on the screen when you just turn it on.

Go to cm and where you can also get the help to reset the ip and gateway, netmask and etc.

You can reinstall 11v2 with its cd.
