I want to read/write message to be given from unix server to the usb-port printer connected as a local printer to the PC which is a node or a client of the unix server. It is to notes that the same command if it is used to message on LPT port it works but I do not know how a unix server can read/write the same message to USB port. plz help me.

And how might this be happening already? Maybe using a USB printer would be similar?

Your question did not make a lick of sense. what are you trying to do ? Using a USB printer on your UNIX server ? Or what ?

Hi

afaik does HP-UX <=11iV2 only support USB HIDs ( mouse and keyboard ) and with next generation mass storage stack ( >=11iv3 ) some storage devices.
USB Printers are not supported.

If the printer is USB off of a windows box, you need to configure it as a remote printer.
You would also have to install the unix printing option on windows.
