how to reduce swap %

Hello,

my server has a memory full, and swap for about 54% . After stopping the process responsable, the swap still fixed at the same %, the memory is became 70%

VM:SERVER1:/root:swapinfo -tam
Mb      Mb      Mb   PCT  START/      Mb
TYPE      AVAIL    USED    FREE  USED   LIMIT RESERVE  PRI  NAME
dev        4096    2232    1864   54%       0       -    1  /dev/vg00/lvol2
reserve       -     524    -524
memory     2429    1711     718   70%
total      6525    4467    2058   68%       -       0    -

is there any other way to reduce this % without rebooting the server ?

Regards

Re: how to reduce swap %

Maybe it would be a long term solution to give the system a bit more memory?

Hope this helps!

You can only reduce swap by killing or not running so many processes.  If rebooting helps a lot, you may have memory leaks.
