how to reset the password history of a user

When I enable the password history depth on a Trusted system, the password history is kept in the pwhist_xxx files in the directory /tcb/files/auth/system/pwhist. In each file there are entries for a number of users. Removing a file will reset the pw history of all the users in the file.
How can I reset the password history of a single user? Can I just remove the users line in the relevenant file? Does anybody know how the number in the pwhist_xxx file name is determined? E.g. why is a certain user always in file pwhist_162?

Thanks and Regards,

You cannot reset password history per user. If it is once enabled all users pass the same check.
