how to upgrade snmp version

I want upgrade the SNMP to version 3 in my HP-UX IA 11.23 server. please let me know which bundles to be upgraded.

According to the release notes in
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5992-1968/5992-1968.pdf

the "native" HP-UX snmp is v3 compatible. It is always a good idea to install the latest patches. If you have other snmp agents installed from other vendor's software you need to contact that vendor.

We are having latest patch bundles as of Sept 2008. and patch upgradation also done.

But I did'nt understand how to upgrade the SNMP version to 3 as per AUDIT requirements.

Check the binaries with "what /usr/sbin/snmpd /usr/sbin/snmpdm" to see what they say. I am not sure what the numbers mean but I saw a release 3 in there. Did the audit do a server port scan and did not find v3 or is it a specified requirement?

The NNM SPI for SNMPV3 is a third party add-on that provides SNMP v3 support for NNM v7.x. It requires NNM v7.x to be installed on the system prior to installing the SPI.
