hp-ux 11.00 : rsync error: unexplained error - hp-ux FS to FS copy.

Hi Experts,
I am getting following rsync error:
However all the files are copied. with same size.

rsync error: unexplained error (code 28) at main.c(578)

Command used:
# rsync -avz /var/opt/perf/* /data_ARCH/var_opt_perf/

rsync Ver:
rsync version 2.5.5 protocol version 26
Copyright (C) 1996-2002 by Andrew Tridgell and others

Please advise ,

Re: hp-ux 11.00 : rsync error: unexplained error - hp-ux FS to FS copy.

Unfortunately, rsync does not quite explain the error message. The key is error code 28 and if it had been reported as "errno 28" then the reason would be obvious:

from /usr/include/sys/errno.h:
errno 28 = ENOSPC /* No space left on device */

[ENOSPC] No space left on device. During a write() to an
ordinary file, there is no free space left on the
device; or no space in system table during msgget(),
semget(), or semop() while SEM_UNDO flag is set.

In other words, the destination filesystem is full.

bdf /data_ARCH/var_opt_perf/

which show how current size of you destination file system, or you can use df -k
Problems are common to all, but attitude makes the difference

/data_ARCH is a 200G filesystem with all free space , so the write error can be ruled out. Thanks.
