hp ux not booting after adding files to init.d
After entering those commands, hp-ux server is not booting:
1- Extract zabbix_agents_1.1.1_HP-UX11.11_PA-RISC.tar Files to /etc/zabbix ( You can download the file from Zabbix Website)
2- Copy zabbixd to /etc/rc.config.d
3- Copy zabbixd_script file to /sbin/init.d
4- rename /sbin/init.d/zabbixd_script to /sbin/init.d/zabbixd
5- Copy zabbixd to /etc/rc.config.d
6- ln -s /sbin/init.d/zabbixd /sbin/rc3.d/S900zabbixd
7- ln -s /sbin/init.d/zabbixd /sbin/rc2.d/K100zabbixd

Re: hp ux not booting after adding files to init.d
What means not booting?
Hung?
ssh to the system (if running on network now) and look inside rc.log, maybe the script get hung.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: hp ux not booting after adding files to init.d
As said, look into rc.log and search for the error.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: hp ux not booting after adding files to init.d
I assume network is started, so try telnet/ssh if you cannot access the console.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Netowrk is not started, server is unreachable. I cannot login neither directly nor by ssh/telnet

Re: hp ux not booting after adding files to init.d
bring the host down, start in single user (hpux -is), then read /etc/rc.log.
Then do "init 1", once done do "init 2". Read rc.log again.
Capture the session from the beginning!
In your earlier post:
>> System returns this error messages while booting and then hungs:
the more interessting part is missing, what starts were successful before the error appears?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: hp ux not booting after adding files to init.d
The problem is most likely the /etc/rc.config.d/zabbixd file you copied over. Many of HP-UX's RC script source in all files from /etc/rc.config.d via the /etc/rc.config script. Either you accidentially copied the zabbixd_script file to /etc/rc.config.d/zabbixd or file is otherwise corrupt. Whatever ever it is, it's causing the RC scripts to abort/error.
Boot to single users as Torsten suggested then remove the /etc/rc.config.d/zabbixd file. The server probably will boot properly now -- minus zabbix starting. If so, thoroughly examine the /etc/rc.config.d/zabbixd file. It should have only a small numbers of lines in it (e.g. "ZABBIX_HOME_DIR=", "ZABBIX_START=[0|1]", etc -- maybe just the ZABBIX_START).
