hplog/hpacucli and Nagios

Been poking around with the 'hpasm' and 'hpacucli' packages recently, and decided to try neatly incorporating these into our Nagios display.

I couldn't find any real information with hardware in bad situations, so I've had to make a few guesses.

If anybody can show examples of hardware in failed or warning states for hpasm-7.8.0's 'hplog' outputs, I'd appreciate it.

Anyway, attached is the routine as it stands. Comments & suggestions welcome.

'hpacucli' plugin to come later..

And a copy of 'check_hpacucli'.

Tested with multiple-controllers with multiple-arrays with multiple physical disks.

For the moment, it just does everything.

It shouldn't be too hard to split into individual aspects if wanted.. just don't have the need to do it ;)

Assumes that 'OK' is good, 'Preditictive Failure' as a warning, and anything else as a critical.

I don't know what other possible states the various componants can be in.

Shalom Stuart.

Thanks for documenting this for us. I'm a nagios newbie and can't be of much more help than moral support.

Re: hplog/hpacucli and Nagios

You have any machines that have any failed drives or fans? :)

The failure messages I'm watching fore are only guesses. I just need confirmation of what the various hplog outputs look like when a devices goes south.

But thanks for the support ;)
