hpux configuration
hpux configuration
1) I search a HP server with the caracteristics below. in this server i want to install a cluster hpux. i need your assistance please.
Power6 based series
cpu : dual core 4.2 ghz or 4.7 ghz
Memory:8 Gb
internal disk: 7 disks of 300GB

Hp Unix cannot run on Power processor ,
What o/s you have it on that server ? AIX or LINUX?
do you have linux on the box and want to create a cluster using Service guard ?

The hp itanium chip set does not exactly match the power chip set but if you want to run an hp-ux service guard cluster, then a pair of properly configured rx8640 with 4 or 6 processors may give you the setup you want . I stress may.
You need to do the research into the specifications and the needs of your application carefully. See this link for the itanium midrange server details :

You could but typically the internal disks on blade systems are used for the os and software. The application data is usually held on an outboard SAN.
You indicated that you wanted 2100GB of internal disk space, So I suggested the midrange systems.
