In this chapter the definition of filesets is.
quote from book-----
........One fileset can belong to only one product, but it can be included in a number of subproducts and bundles......
quote end------------
At the end of this chapter there are few questions
I got confused at this particular question
question from book---------
What is NOT true about fileset?
a) fileset is collection of files.
b) One fileset can belong to only one product
c) One fileset can belong to many products.
d) filesets may have dependencies on one another.
question end-------------
I thought the correct answer was "C" because in the text of fileset definiton it says One fileset can belong to only one product.
But in the book,in the answer section of this chapter the correct answer is "B".
Did i get it wrong ? or the answer written in the book is incorrect? or perhaps the text of fileset definition is not correct? bit confused
Any suggestion ?
Thanks,
Zee.

Re: hpux csa exam (filesets question )
No B is not correct. One fileset can belong to only one product ----> but it can belong to many SUBproducts.
Hope this helps,

Re: hpux csa exam (filesets question )
b) One fileset can belong to only one product
->false, it can be in one product and many subproducts...
c) One fileset can belong to many products.
->true, it can be in the product and many sub...
The book said "One fileset can belong to only one product, but..." Looks like the but got you. :)
Good luck!

Re: hpux csa exam (filesets question )
# swlist -l fileset CDE
->you'll see a list of CDE filesets
pick a fileset to see what products it belongs too...
# swlist -l fileset -l product CDE.CDE-TT
Only one product is listed...
CDE.CDE-TT
It's in the form of product.fileset
Now list what subproducts it belongs too...
# swlist -l fileset -l subproduct CDE.CDE-TT
You should see two...
CDE.MinimumRuntime.CDE-TT
CDE.Runtime.CDE-TT
it's in the form product.sub.fileset
So we have one fileset in one product, but it belongs to two sub products.
Hope this helps w/ your studies,

Re: hpux csa exam (filesets question )
C is correct answer. That means it is not true. If it has to be true then they should have specifically said "sub-products" instead of just "products".
In the earlier version of this book that i have reffered had around 16 mistakes and it is quite possible that this book has too.
Finally what is suggest is to beleive yourself if you are not getting officials answers or clarification for such questions and go ahead. Such ambiguity may arise for 2 or 3 questions and not more than that in exam questions. So keep your target score high so that this tolerance can be handled. :)
All the best.

Re: hpux csa exam (filesets question )
In fact, answer B is a direct quote of the text quoted.
However, I also agree this question is quite confusing!!!

Re: hpux csa exam (filesets question )
And I think they make a distinction between "belonging to" and "included in" which is slicing your bread pretty thin, but there is a difference there as well.
