ia64_corehw and defucnt process on Parisc rp4440 11iv23
I wonder if there is a way to fix this issue even though it doesn't seem to overflow the system resource having Zombie (defunct) sitting there. And this is cause by ia64_corehw. i tried to kill it but it reappear few minutes later.
Below is a listing of my system hardware:
/home/root$ ps -ef|grep 6116
root 1025 6116 0 15:17:46 ? 0:00
root 1115 15054 1 15:17:59 pts/3 0:00 grep 6116
root 6116 1 0 16:25:26 ? 0:30 /usr/sbin/stm/uut/bin/tools/monitor/ia64_corehw
#/etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig
EVENT MONITORING IS CURRENTLY ENABLED.
EMS Version : A.04.20.23
STM Version : C.60.00
#swlist |grep -i diag
Additional System Data:
System Model Number.............: 9000/800/rp4440
OS Version......................: B.11.23
EMS Version.....................: A.04.20
STM Version.....................: C.60.00
Are they any patch available, the version of STM and EMS are too old?

This is a known problem. Some threads about this and possible patches:

Shalom,
In general, updating your systems to a bi-annual patch update, once or twice a hear is a good idea.
Yes I believe EMS and STM would benefit from an update.
