I have tried taking ignite backup on one of my hp server ..but not sure it is completed successfully .here is the tail message from recovery.log.ANy idea ..is it completed ?

* Archiving contents of abtmon via tar image to local device/dev/rmt/0mn.
pax: /dev/rmt/0mn : No such device or address
WARNING: The pax command returned a non-zero exit status (exit status 1).

* Cleaning up old configuration file directories
======= 01/05/09 13:15:07 CST make_tape_recovery completed with warnings

Solution
The key messages are these:
* Archiving contents of abtmon via tar image to local device/dev/rmt/0mn.
pax: /dev/rmt/0mn : No such device or address
The "No such device or address" means that either the tape device /dev/rmt/0mn does not exist on this server or it did not have a tape in the drive.
If you do an 'ioscan -kfnC tape' does anything show up?

No ,it did not show up anything.But i have placed a tape and see the progress by green lit .and i have been prompted for changing the second tape.

if the above is true, I fail to see how you could write to it, as it doesn't exist. I'm mystified at this point.
