Re: indentify disk!
hey !!
the way to check such thing is pretty simpler
on 11.32 using ioscan -m dsf where "agile"
name will be unique and will be mapped to multiple legacy names.
For rest OS you need to find the PVID
running the command xd or ADB which ever works on the OS version you have.
#echo 0x2010?2X|adb /dev/dsk/c17t6d2|expand|tr -d " "|sed "s/2010:/PVID
Use the following command to know the PVID and VGID
#echo "0x2008?4D" | adb /dev/dsk/c17t6d2
2008: -236935368 1233043606 -236935368 1146662122
explained with an example
# xd -j8200 -N16 -tu /dev/rdsk/c1t2d0
0000000 2000252410 965817345 2000252410 965817462
PV CPU-ID PV timestamp VG CPU-ID VG time
stamp.
or run the script mentioned in the thread by bill

Re: indentify disk!
#echo 0x2010?2X|adb /dev/dsk/c17t6d2|expand|tr -d " "|sed "s/2010:/PVID
must be a double quote at the end ;
#echo 0x2010?2X|adb /dev/dsk/c17t6d2|expand|tr -d " "|sed "s/2010:/PVID"
additionally ;
# echo "0x2008?4D" | adb /dev/dsk/c3t6d0
2008: 2010833916 1271329034 2010833916 1271329034
in order to sequence from left to right:
CPUID, VGID, CPUID, PVID

Re: indentify disk!
Note the HW PATHs of c4t6d0 and c7t6d0. The former islijkely an internal disk. The latter is most likely on a SCSI Enclosure based DS21xxx.
