installation procedure for disks in as1200

I want to install tru64 version 4.0f on Alphaserver 1200 on 36 GB with raid5. Kindly suggest the recommended procedure for the same.

As for the RAID level, do you have a hardware RAID controller? Configuring it is typically done at the console level before you ever get to the OS install. If you want software RAID you'll need LSM (Logical Storage Manager) in addition to the base Tru64 license. If you have only a single physical drive, this could prove very difficult, if not impossible.

You can use:

512-1G to /

Swap at least = RAM or 2 x RAM acording to your memory and software requirements.

The usr_domain the rest of the disk.

You can then create more filesets in the usr_domain for backup/quota/data separation purposes.

Put /tmp on a separate filesytem, may share the usr_domain.
