invalid record size on last login

hi friends
while i am trying to take the record of last successfull logins via
#last -R
it shows
invalid record size unable to continue........

how can i sol.....this ?

also check /var/adm/wtmps file exist or not?

What HP-UX version are you using?

The file /var/adm/wtmps is corrupted. You won't be able to see the data in the file.
