ioscan -fnCdisk shows no disks
Hi
I have just patched an 11.31 test server to March 2012 Bundles.
I have just rebooted, and upon carrying out some checks, I find ioscan -fnCdisk shows nothing.

Re: ioscan -fnCdisk shows no disks
Try adding N - upper-case N to the syntax and see if it shows any agile device files.

Re: ioscan -fnCdisk shows no disks
Hi Dave
Here it is:
root@test_server at /var/adm/syslog =>ioscan -fNCdisk

disk 78 64000/0xfa00/0x11 esdisk CLAIMED DEVICE NETAPP LUN
disk 83 64000/0xfa00/0x12 esdisk CLAIMED DEVICE NETAPP LUN
Why is this the case? How come it didn't show anything when doing ioscan -f 'lower case n' Cdisk?

Because you don't have any legacy DSF? My system has both types.

Re: ioscan -fnCdisk shows no disks
Looks like someone ran "rmsf -L" to disable legacy DSFs on this system - you can confirm this by running "insf -Lv", and you could re-enable legacy DSFs by running "insf -L". See man pages for rmsf and insf for more details.

Re: ioscan -fnCdisk shows no disks
Duncan
This did the trick. I don't think anyone would've run the rmsf -L command, as I am the only person using this server at present. Could it be the Mar 12 bundle patching could have done something?
